In order to provide excitement and variety for art enthusiasts and support the erection of a sculpture dedicated to Voldemar Väli, a heroic figure from Saaremaa and the winner of the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, Eesti Kunstioksjonid OÜ is bringing you 40 renowned and highly valued works by Estonian artists at the CHARITABLE ESTONIAN CONTEMPORARY ART AUCTION, which will commence on July 29th at 15:00 in Kuressaare Kuursaal.

The auction will feature works by the following artists from the cream of Estonian art: Leonhard Lapin, Jüri Arrak, Enn Põldroos, Kaljo Põllu, Olav Maran, Malle Leis, Raul Meel, Peeter Allik, Jaan Toomik, Jaan Elken, Lemming Nagel, Kaido Ole, Marko Mäetamm, Robin Nõgisto, August Künnapu, Raoul Kurvitz, and others. The creation period of the artworks ranges from the 1970s to the present day.

The auction will culminate with an Omega gold pocket watch engraved with a dedication, gifted to Voldemar Väli by Prime Minister Konstantin Päts to commemorate his bronze medal victory at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. The historical value of this timepiece is difficult to overestimate for Estonian sports and history enthusiasts.

The auction exhibition is already open to all art lovers, and you can explore the artworks in detail both in the KINOSAAL (Cinema Hall) of Kuressaare Kuursaal and on the eestikunstioksjonid.ee website. Participants for the live auction are welcome to join at Kuressaare Kuursaal’s Kinosaal on July 29th. Doors will open for viewing and registration at 14:00, and the live auction will begin at 15:00. Pre-bidding for the artworks can be made starting from July 21st at 15:00.
